Sources & Methodology
Sources & Methodology
Every health milestone in StimuStop is grounded in publicly available health authorities. Here they are.
How we build the milestones
The milestones (what happens in your body after 24 hours, 3 days, a month or a year) are not our guesses. We map them to published benefit timelines from recognised health organisations and label each milestone with its source. When their guidance changes, we update our content to match.
Health authorities
- NHS (National Health Service, UK)
Timeline of benefits after quitting smoking, plus alcohol quitting guidance.
- CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA)
Health benefits of quitting smoking and data on nicotine dependence.
- American Heart Association
Cardiovascular recovery at each stage after your last cigarette.
- American Cancer Society
Reduction in cancer risk and other long-term benefits of quitting over time.
Important note
StimuStop is a motivational and educational tool, not a substitute for professional medical care. The timelines describe a typical course — every body is different. For severe withdrawal symptoms (especially with alcohol), always consult a doctor.
